FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 18, 2011 – Atlanta, GA – BURNAWAY proudly announces its second annual fundraiser to help support and develop the organization’s online publication and public programs. BURNAWAY is a nonprofit arts organization dedi- cated to providing a destination for engaged dialogue about the arts. This award winning organization inspires and educates the public, interprets the contemporary significance of art regionally, nationally, and internationally, and elevates discourse about the arts while opening the conversation to new audiences.
Each year BURNAWAY picks a theme that reflects the city of Atlanta and the location of the event. The theme for this year is steeped in trains and their relationship to both the history of Atlanta, as well as current discussions regarding transportation and connectivity in the city. The fundraiser is being held immediately adjacent to both the Atlanta Belt- Line as well as the CSX railways. All of the participating artists, performers, and creatives involved in this event are creating work specifically dealing with this theme.
